With cases of Covid-19 rising due to increased socialising and waning immunity, it is very important that those eligible for the Covid-19 booster, (which is currently everyone aged 50 and over and people at a higher risk from the virus due to a long-term condition or weakened immune system, including pregnant women), book an appointment to have Covid-19 booster vaccination.
In addition front line care workers and unpaid carers are also being offered the booster to help keep them and the people they care for protected.
Please do not call the surgery if you wish to book your COVID-19 Vaccine but use the below weblink

There is also a major concern that this winter will see a dramatic rise in the number of people catching flu, as natural immunity in the general public is low following the previous two years of Covid restrictions and as a result are more likely to be seriously ill if they get flu and Covid-19 at the same time.
The flu vaccination is the best defence against catching the flu and will also help prevent passing it on to older and more vulnerable relatives or those that you may care for.
The surgery flu vaccination clinics are split into people who are under 65 and those over 65, as there is a higher dose of antigen in the vaccine for people 65 and over to give them a better immune response to the vaccination and as a result better protection against flu.
The flu vaccination is free if you are in one of the following groups:
– 50 years or over
– Living in a residential or nursing home
– A carer of an older or disabled person
– A frontline care worker
